WRAP IT UP

Well it's been fun, educational and sometimes scary.
thanks

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!!!

Well, I thought it would be boring. I thought it would be as exciting as watching someone clip their toenails. BUT:) I WAS WRONG!
For the most part I really enjoyed the information and the exercises.

I know that I can use many of the things that I have learned through this program and I am very grateful. (my teenager now thinks I'm cooler than ever) MYSPACE!!

My favorite was blogging, myspace and google docs.

I was extremely grateful for our cluster reps who made it possible to get answers quickly and without making me feel foolish. Thanks Stacey!!
I would recommend this program to everyone. I even think the time frame was fair. If I could finish, then anyone can.
If you continue to do this with other training sessions, I would enjoy it as long as it you keep it fun!!
so thanks again for the opportunity.

I really enjoyed this lesson. I couldn't wait to go home and tell my daughter about the googledocs and the zoho. These programs will come in very handy when students have joint projects and cannot get together physically.

Llibrary 2.0

I remember going to the library and digging through the card catalog, asking th librarian for help, and getting my books stamped before leaving.
Boy, times have changed. With all the new technology available and more coming I can't wait to see the kind of libraries and resources that will be available for my new granddaughter to use.

Search What You Like

Probably because I am used to Google, but thats still my favorite. I will remember Rollyo in case someone asks me for a different on.

Play then Catch UP/Generator BLOG

Thanks Theresa and Stacey for helping get this thing loaded to my blog.

I enjoyed this lesson a lot. Had a hard time with the saving (as noted on the 2.0 page) but it was worth it.

I am so gonna play with this generator thingy. Check out the dysfunctional letter, and the Bart Simpson chalk board generator. Great laughs.

WIKI 2.0 or what I learned today

I see the positives.
I don't see why there isn't a warning to people that the information contained in some of these are not true? accurate? verified? Thats all I've got to say about this one.
But I did learn something I didn't know before. So I appreciate it just the same

LIBRARY THING-Y

Great THING! I enjoyed exploring and adding my own books to my own library. I plan to continue using this one. Will be a good resource for readers advisory and to use as a quick look up when I can't remember the name of a book that I know I've read.
I will probably use this THING more than anything else we have done so far in 2.0

DELICIOUS?

Ok checked out the Delicious site. I recognize it could be very useful for reference librarians, not so sure I would use it as much. but it is good to know that I can check out sites that have proven helpful for others. I did really like the recipe sites that i found.

My MYSPACE... OH Yeah!

Got the MYSPACE up and running. Have friends, thanks Janell for the Josh pic, I can't believe that wasn't the first thing I did. gonna put some Leah pics up soon. Thanks to Barb for showing me how to copy the time stamp on my blog so that when I submit my info on the 27things progress log, I do it correctly.
Kinda like playing around with Myspace, but just like the last M&M in the bag, all good things must come to an end.
So I'm off to DELICIOUS??!!!! Wish me luck.

Why OH Why MySpace

Well, I enjoyed reading the blogs from librarians regarding the use of myspace and why it should/shouldn't be used as a library tool. My 14 year old has been using myspace for a while and I have to admit I spent the first 2-3 months looking over her shoulder, making sure that she was only talking to age appropriate folks, not checking out stuff that even I wouldn't look at. But lo and behold, she is only yakking to kids that she knows the screen name for.
She thought it was terribly funny that KCLS was having librarians and l.a.'s make up myspace pages. Then she gave my a list of names to check out when my page was up and running. Sheesh...the pressure. Now I have to make sure that my page isn't dumb or goofy cause she said she was gonna share it with some of her friends and I sure don't want them to think I'm not cool.
So, THANKS KCLS for the training, and I will keep you posted on my coolness factor.

Well, I finally figured it out, and managed to subscribe to 4 feeds. Thats all I have to say about this lesson!

OK, did some searching, spent way too much time looking at stuff. Thanks for the information and I will try to think to use this when I need to look something up.

FLICKR

Learning 2.0 next lesson. Well I started out thinking this was sooooo simple. I refer to FLICKR..
Anyway the next thing I knew I had setup a Yahoo account, downloaded pics, and even made a trading card (Josh Holloway) who else? It wasn't as bad as I thought, but I now have another web account that I really don't need. Oh well, At least I learned something NEW.
I couldn't figure out how to make my trading card accessible for everyone yet, but I haven't given up.

Josh Holloway

DON'T HATE HIM BECAUSE HE IS BEAUTIFUL !

Josh sent this pic to me just as encouragement. I was telling him how much I enjoyed his work on the show LOST, and how I really look forward to meeting him. He explained that he too anxiously awaited our meeting. Sigh!

Anyway, we have decided to meet up in Hawaii next month. We shall sit on the beach and read romance books together.
